Simon Pauly ist deutscher Fotograf und lebt in Berlin.

In Köln geboren und in Bayreuth aufgewachsen, hat Simon Operngesang an der “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” in München studiert. Seit 1999 arbeitete er als Solist in den Ensembles verschiedener Opernhäuser Deutschlands – zuletzt an der Deutschen Oper Berlin.

Vor 12 Jahren entdeckte er die Fotografie als weitere künstlerische Ausdrucksform. Über die Jahre verlagerte sich die Priorität immer weiter in Richtung Fotografie. Als professioneller Fotograf spezialisiert er sich auf Portraits. Insbesondere für Opernsänger /-innen, Dirigenten / Dirigentinnen, Orchester, Instrumentalisten /-Instrumentalistinnen und Schauspieler /-innen und den gesamten kuluturellen Bereich. Daneben widmet er sich weiterhin der künstlerischen Fotografie, der Reportage und freien Arbeiten.

Er arbeitete auch als Director of Photography / Kameramann für den vielfach ausgezeichneten Kurzfilm „Monsura is Waiting“. 2014 gewann er dafür den Preis für die beste Cinematography beim Williamsburg Independent Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York.

Simon Pauly is a german photographer based in Berlin.

Born in Cologne and raised in Bayreuth, Simon studied at the “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” in Munich to become a professional opera singer. Since 1999 he worked as a soloist and ensemble member of different German opera houses – last at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

12 Years ago he discovered photography as another artistic outlet. Over the years his priority shifted more and more towards photography. As a professional photographer he specialises in portraits. Especially for opera singers, conductors, orchestras, instrumentalist and actors. He still dedicates himself to the artistic photography and personal projects.

He also worked as a Director of Photography for the highly acclaimed short film „Monsura is Waiting”. 2014 he won the award for the best cinematography at the Williamsburg Independent Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York.
