Being a dandy is not just about dress. It affects everything – what you read, the way you deal with individuals. Dandies are gentlemen – utterly charming and people enjoy being around them.
I had the honour to portray two great artists and dandies, for whom style has always started with that extra flourish.
A man of many parts, Mr. Christoph Peters is a dandy as well as a bestseller-author of novels and short stories. He has recently unveiled his book „Einschreiben Aufzeichnen“, with drawings by Mr. Matthias Beckmann. Mr. Beckmann enjoys an established reputation for creating subtly drawings, observing urban life.
The dandy and the artist promenade arm in arm. Both are outsiders and subversives, who gaze with ironical detachment upon the humdrum tapestry of life.
